DES Pune University Inaugurates New School Of Science & Mathematics Building And Advanced Research Centres
05 June 2026: DES Pune University proudly inaugurated the new School of Science & Mathematics Building along with two advanced research centres, marking a significant step forward in its commitment to academic excellence, scientific research, and innovation.
The inauguration included the opening of two dedicated research centres:
Mukunddas Lohia Advanced Research Centre for Ecology and Conservation (ARC)
Centre for Interdisciplinary, Integrated and Applied Research (CIIAR)
The occasion was graced by the esteemed presence of Padma Vibhushan Dr. Raghunath Mashelkar, renowned scientist and visionary leader, and Hon. Shri Chandrakant (Dada) Patil, Minister of Higher & Technical Education, Government of Maharashtra.The event was graced by the presence of Hon'ble President Prof. (Dr.) Ravindra Acharya Sir, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Ingle Sir, Adv. Ashok Palande Sir, Vice Chairman, Council and Governing Body, Deccan Education Society, Prof. (Dr.) Anand Katikar Sir, Secretary, Deccan Education Society, Dr. Tushar Deshmukh Sir, Head, School of Science & Mathematics, along with esteemed members of the DES Pune University and Deccan Education Society leadership.
