Two Day State Level NEP Conference At Fergusson College (Autonomous)

A Two-Day State Level Conference on “Policy to Practice: Reality, Opportunities and Challenges under NEP 2020” was organized by D.E. Society’s Fergusson College (Autonomous), Pune on 13th and 14th March 2026. The conference aimed to discuss the practical implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, focusing on its opportunities, challenges, and stakeholder contributions.

Day 1: 13th March 2026

The first day began with registration and breakfast, followed by the Inaugural Function. The academic sessions started with keynote and invited talks by distinguished policymakers who shared insights into the vision and framework of NEP 2020. Eminent speakers discussed policy-level perspectives and emphasized the importance of transforming educational practices according to NEP guidelines.

In the afternoon, two panel discussions were conducted on the opportunities and challenges in implementing NEP. Experts from various academic institutions shared their experiences and discussed issues such as curriculum restructuring, skill-based learning, multidisciplinary education, and institutional preparedness. The discussions provided practical insights into bridging the gap between policy formulation and classroom implementation.

Day 2: 14th March 2026

The second day focused on the verticals of NEP, including topics such as fourth-year implementation and Outcome-Based Education (OBE). Invited speakers highlighted the importance of structured curriculum design, measurable learning outcomes, and quality assurance practices in higher education.

A panel discussion on NEP verticals included academic leaders and experts who shared their views on multidisciplinary education, research integration, and student-centric learning approaches. Later, students from various colleges in Maharashtra presented feedback on different NEP verticals, highlighting their perspectives and experiences.

The final session focused on stakeholder contributions in implementing NEP, where academicians, entrepreneurs, and industry representatives discussed collaborative efforts required for effective policy execution. The conference concluded with a Valedictory Function, marking the successful completion of the two-day academic event.
